This French Movie is about Amelia (Audrey Tautou) was raised by eccentric parents who—believing erroneously that she had a heart defect—prevented her from meeting other children; she was home schooled by her mother. She developed an active imagination and fantasy life to cope with her loneliness. After the death of her mother and her father's subsequent withdrawal from society, Amelia leaves home and becomes a waitress at Café des 2 Moulin’s in Montmartre, staffed and frequented by a collection of eccentrics. Spurning romantic relationships after a few disappointing efforts, she finds contentment in simple pleasures and letting her imagination roam free.

On 31 August 1997, Amelia is startled by the news of the death of Diana, Princess of Wales, causing her to drop a glass ball which in turn dislodges a loose bathroom tile. Behind the tile she finds an old metal box of childhood memorabilia hidden by a boy who lived in her apartment decades earlier. She resolves to track down the boy and return the box to him, and promises herself that if she finds him and it makes him happy, she will devote her life to bringing happiness to others and helping others as much as she could.

She asks Mrs. Wallace, the concierge, about the boy. Wallace redirects her to the abusive greengrocer, Mr. Collignon, who redirects Amelia to his mother. Mrs. Collignon remembers the name "Dominique Bredoteau", but Amélie has no success finding the owner of the box. Amelia meets her reclusive neighbour, Raymond Dufayel (Serge Merlin), an artist who repaints Luncheon of the Boating Party by Pierre-Auguste Renoir every year. He remembers the boy also, but correctly recalls the name as "Bretodeau". Amélie quickly finds the man and surreptitiously passes him the box. Moved to tears by the discovery and the memories it holds, Bretodeau resolves to reconcile with his estranged daughter and the grandson he has never met. Amelia happily embarks on her new mission.

In addition, this movie is mystery and unique. For those who like to imagine life and like to view other people life or their thinking, this movie is suitable for them. I also found some bad things in this movie. In my opinion, this movie cannot bring the clear message or the clear purpose to the audience. This is because the emotion of main actor is strange. May be the actor want express other meaning but I saw her emotion too frighten and terrify. So, I will felt confused and don’t know why want occur this things. The movie shows almost no nudity for almost the entire film until to toward the end. The nudity was a man trying to communicate with a woman while she was filming a porno video for the store she works for. It shows her breasts, because she is stripping in front of the camera. However, this scene is only about 1 minute long, and so should not be too graphic for us. Although I found some bad things in movie but I still enjoy watching ‘Amelia’. She was discover herself as the movie progresses, and as she discovers life and true love. This is a good filming, story line, and acting.

     

In conclusion, I enjoy watching Amelie discover herself as the movie progresses, and as she discovers life and true love. It was very good filming, story line, and acting and also a quirky modern fairytale, of sorts. The main important point in this movie is on human feelings and life, where regular everyday circumstances come to be the nest for life changing experiences. Director has the ability for translating everyday events into compelling images. In fact the film’s message is thoroughly trite and familiar which is the world is full of wonder and mystery, keep your senses alert, your eyes open for opportunities and maybe you can overcome the tawdry fate that awaits most of mankind.
